The show includes large feathered headdresses made to this day by Brazil's Kaiapo Indians, 16th-century feather mosaics of religious scenes from Mexico and several stunning items from 10th-century Peru, among them a feather-covered mummified head.

Later work, from the period immediately preceding the advent of the Spanish, includes headdresses, textile ornaments and burial offerings, especially vases or beakers.
