But the number of people approved by the city each month for supportive housing is usually higher.

Evidence has shown that supportive housing does not lower property values or lead to an increase in crime.

Both of these programs have worked to move homeless people into permanent, supportive housing.

In the past two decades, the city, with help from the federal and state governments, has built 21,000 units of supportive housing.
