"He's having some growing pains and you expect that," Shell said.

"The players are falling in love with him," Shell said.

Initial production is expected to be 75,000 barrels a day, Shell said in a statement.

Last year, Shell said it would sell the building to cut costs when oil prices dropped.

Shell said when it started the program that an average driver would probably save $70 a year.

Shell has said the recent oil spill is likely to be worst in a decade.

"I want to make sure nothing gets out," Shell said.

He spends several hours a week watching film at the complex, Shell said.

Shell said it would increase capital spending 20 percent, to $12 billion.

Shell said most of his players would welcome the news.
