The school has well-regarded math competition teams, and participation in certain competitions such as the American Mathematics Contest and the Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition is mandatory for all students in the Math/Science concentration.

The Inter-school Mathematics Contest (ISMC) is a mathematics competition organised by Hong Kong Joint School Mathematics Society, it is usually held in May every year.

Today, there is a thicket of math competitions around the world, among them the International Mathematical Olympiad and the American Mathematics Contest.

In the past years, Moscrop students have also actively participated in the routine provincial and national science fairs, Canadian Mathematics Contests, SD41's Math Challengers, and business competitions.

They also perform well in competitions such as the American Mathematics Contest or the Science League.

Math is not held as an event but as a competition comparing the American Mathematics Contest results of students on each school's varsity math team.

Chaska High School actively participates in several academic leagues, including Quiz Bowl, Knowledge Bowl, Science Bowl, Math League, and the American Mathematics Contest.
