In the last week of June, Chamrousse finished second in the grade one Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park at 1 mile and 1/8.

The two horses are now in position to sweep the series, which will be concluded with the $200,000-added Mother Goose Stakes on June 10, at a mile and an eighth.

She began with a six-length win in the Acorn Stakes, then ran in the 1 mile Mother Goose Stakes.

The two fillies were named yesterday as co-favorites in a field of seven for tomorrow's $250,000 Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park, the middle race in the series.

Fiesta Gal, a 3-year-old daughter of Alleged, ran down Grecian Flight and Buryyourbelief to win the $250,400 Mother Goose Stakes for 3-year-old fillies.

The Ruffian Handicap tomorrow will mark the return to New York of Gorgeous, who has not raced here since losing the Mother Goose Stakes by a head to Open Mind last summer.

As a postscript, Sunday's program includes the $150,000 Manhattan Handicap on the turf and then the $200,000 Mother Goose Stakes.

She also placed second in the grade one Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont at one mile and 1/8.

And she went to the post as the heavy choice, one month after winning the Mother Goose Stakes by seven lengths.
