Searles Valley is located between the Argus Range to the west and the Slate Range to the east.

This is Saline Valley, and it leads to the Argus Range, where a massive red-rocked canyon gapes below the road.

The crest of the Argus Range is located within a military reservation and so the peaks of this range are off-limits to the general public.

It extends from the military reservation on the west to the foot of the Argus Range on the east.

The mountains lie to the east of Searles Lake and the Argus Range at the southern end of the Panamint Range.

In 1875 rich deposits of silver-lead ore were discovered in the Argus Range on top of Lookout mountain.

Three of these are significant barriers: the Sierra Nevada, the Argus Range, and the Panamint Range.

The Coso Range is between the Sierra Nevada and the Argus Range.

Maturango Peak is the highest mountain in the Argus Range.

The Wilderness Area is near the Inyo Mountains and the Argus Range, west of the Panamint Range.
